University is... complicated. I transferred here last fall, but am having trouble getting the credits to transfer with me. So I'm sort of at a limbo right now, I guess. If I can get in touch with the dean outside the city, I'd have graduated. If not, I'll have to take another semester at RecU and be a student there.

Of course!! I'm trying to focus on history studies. Got lots of old text to read through and dates to memorize. It can be hard.

compendiem on February 4th, 2018 07:54 pm (UTC)History was something I struggled with, but I liked learning about people, their passions and goals, advancements of human society. I think I did best in the natural sciences, though. Everything's connected, so it's easy to make sense of it all.

compendiem on February 5th, 2018 12:13 am (UTC)I don't know if I'm smart. I had a lot of time, so all I did was study. Science was always interesting, though. If everything turns out and I graduate, I'm going to grad school to become a vet.
You can get a lot of money from being a vet. It's a promising career.
How do you keep yourself focused for so long? I keep falling asleep in the middle of reading. Then I don't retain what I learn at all.

compendiem on February 6th, 2018 01:12 pm (UTC)Yeah, I've got a lot of debt to pay off, so I won't lie and pretend money doesn't factor into it. Used to fall asleep in class all the time, but as for focus... I wouldn't recommend you doing what I did.

Everyone has to start working at some point regardless. It's a real pain, but we have to.

compendiem on February 7th, 2018 04:39 am (UTC)You can get away with it, sometimes. If you read ahead and know the answers when you're called on, sometimes teachers stop caring. Or if you never know the answers, they give up and stop caring too, I guess...
Never thought about it like that. I haven't slept in class yet, thankfully.

Easier said than done. A good cup of coffee helps get me through longer days.

compendiem on February 7th, 2018 11:40 pm (UTC)Liquid energy. There really is nothing better. Do you ever go to Expressive? It can get crowded and noisy, so it's no good for studying, but I work there and can show you good coffee.
I've heard of the place. Don't go there much though. It's too crowded for my liking.

compendiem on February 8th, 2018 10:35 pm (UTC)You have to go at odd hours. Barely anybody drinks coffee at 4PM. And everybody after 11PM is more or less dead and that's the best time to work. There's the booth in the corner with an outlet and you can catch the wi-fi from the shop next door. One in the other corner where the light doesn't reach very well so it sucks and you shouldn't sit there. I'll show you.
Thanks, I'll keep those things in mind. So I can't come in after 11PM because of my curfew. Maybe I should drop by around 4PM then. That seems like the better option.

Good call. It's not like you're skipping work for fun. Your boss and managers will understand. Then it's only a matter of waiting until everything dies down.
